FAQs

Questions and Answers

Which insurances do you accept?

We bill most vision plans (used for routine vision exams) and medical plans (used for medical related eye exams) ranging from Premera, Regence, Aetna, Cigna, First Choice, VSP, Uniform Medical, Medicaid, Medicare, HMA, NBN, Davis and more. We know how confusing understanding the details of your plan can be, therefore our office is more than happy to assist you in verifying benefits with your insurance provider.

Does the doctor examine children?

Yes, Dr. Chhim is very comfortable and adept at examining children. She has been known to sing a few songs and hop around on one foot for our little patients. In addition our office is equipped with children friendly vision testing instruments and flexible eyeglass frames for young children. We recommend children under 5 YO be examined by a pediatric optometrist.

What can I expect during my eye exam?

Your eye exam will take approximately 45-60 minutes depending on your eye concerns. Dr. Chhim will perform a comprehensive eye exam which will involve examining your vision for glasses or contacts, assessing the front and back health of your eyes for diseases such as dry eyes, infections, cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Please let our office know if there are any tests/procedures that you may be uncomfortable with or would like to learn more about.

What is your prescription and contact lens return and exchange policy?

All prescription lenses are considered special order, and are therefore non-refundable. Contact lenses are considered a medical device and can not be returned once purchased.

Do you fill Medicaid glasses?

Yes, we are proud to be one of very few offices that provide glasses to our Medicaid patients through Airway Optical. Airway Optical is the ONLY state approved lab in which Medicaid glasses can be ordered. We provide this service to our patients and DO NOT fill outside Medicaid prescriptions.
